The fascination with flying is common to many. But there are people who turn this passion into a true vocation.

For more than 50 years, Helisul has been creating services and products, made by those who love aviation and dedicated to those who need to fly efficiently and exclusively.

It started with panoramic flights and branched out, grew, reached the entire country and did not stop evolving until it was recognized as the largest helicopter operator in Brazil.

Throughout all this time, it has always been innovative and, thus, has become a reference in many sectors of aviation.

Helisul was the first company in Brazil to obtain authorizations for external cargo, firefighting, and rappelling operations with helicopters.

Fundação da Tropical Táxi Aéreo Ltda

Founded on October 5, 1972, to offer panoramic flights in Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná. Helisul, initially, was called Tropical Táxi Aéreo Ltda and belonged to Tropical Hotel Network.

Mudança de nome para Helisul

The name change came in 1976, when Helisul Táxi Aéreo Ltda started to operate a small hangar on the Cataratas Highway, near the airport.

Still in the 70s, more precisely in 1979, Helisul started to perform helicopter maintenance services.

Inauguração do 1º heliponto

The company was acquired by the Biesuz family, when commanders Eloy and Celso Biesuz took over the presidency of Helisul. With the growth of the organization, the hangar near Foz do Iguaçu.

Airport became too small for the dreams of brothers and partners Eloy and Celso Biesuz. With that, they began planning the construction of a helipad that would meet the needs of tourists.

The Helisul II helipad was inaugurated on the banks of the Iguaçu River.

Chegada da Helisul à Capital Paranaense

Two years later, in 1986, Helisul arrived in the capital of Paraná, inaugurating the first branch of Helisul Táxi Aéreo, in Curitiba - PR.

In 1991, Helisul expanded its borders and began to offer panoramic flights in the city of Rio de Janeiro and inaugurated the Jacarepaguá Base, both in the state of Rio de Janeiro.

While the company made advances in scenic helicopter flights, it also gained experience in Specialized Air Services. Between 1991 and 1992, the firefighting service began and, during this period, Helisul completed 800 flight hours at the service of IBAMA-DF for the control and inspection of deforestation, irregular fires and other environmental damage in the Amazon.

In 1994, Helisul Linhas Aéreas S/A was founded, boasting the title of the first airline in the State of Paraná. In 1996, Helisul sold the lines operated by Helisul Linhas Aéreas to the company TAM.

Partnership with Rede Globo

In 1996, Helisul entered into a partnership with Rede Globo de Televisão and started the operation of Globocop (Helicopters used to capture aerial images).

6.000 horas de voo

6,000 flight hours

Between 1999 and 2002, Helisul totaled approximately 6,000 flight hours for the services of inspection, location, control and combat of illegal burnings and forest fires with the Bambi bucket equipment, transport of firefighters and brigades in the Amazon region at the service of IBAMA/PROARCO/UNDP.

In 2006, the helicopters used for the operation of Globocop were renewed, ensuring better performance.

In 2008, Helisul strategically migrated its administrative headquarters from the city of Foz do Iguaçu to Curitiba.

Inauguração Slim em Santa Catarina e quarta filial em Brasília

In 2010, it continued to expand their horizons and inaugurated a new base in the city of São José - SC, which is called Slim. Helicopter maintenance and hangar service are carried out there.

Also in 2010, Helisul arrived in the capital of Brazil, inaugurating the company's fourth branch in Brasília - DF.

Prêmio Emmy Internacional

In 2011, in New York, Jornal Nacional won the International Emmy Award — the Oscar of world television, in the News category. The award was for the coverage of the expulsion of drug traffickers and the police occupation of Complexo do Alemão, in Rio, in November 2010, carried out by Helisul.

Serviço de transporte aeromédico

In 2012, Helisul entered the aeromedical transport service.

In the 2014 World Cup, 7 helicopters from Helisul were used to film the event.

Cobertura da Fórmula 1 e linhas de energia

In 2015, Helisul was hired to cover Formula 1. In that same year, it started to offer the service of inspection, maintenance and construction of power lines.

Also that year, it inaugurated another base, this time in Belém do Pará.

Nova base no Aeroporto Internacional Afonso Pena

In 2016, it inaugurated the Afonso Pena Base, at the Afonso Pena International Airport, in the city of São José dos Pinhais.

Grandes conquistas

The year 2018 witnessed great achievements for Helisul. That year it was the first company in Latin America to acquire the new Bell 505 helicopters. In addition, it was approved as a Bell and Safran Service Center.

In 2020, Helisul won the title of Airbus Helicopters Authorized Service Center.

Certificação IS BAO e novo heliponto em Curitiba

In 2022, the organization receives the IS BAO-Level 1 security certification, and just 1 year later it rose to Level 2. This was a great achievement for Helisul, since the change in level takes an average of 3 years to happen.

Also in 2022, Helisul takes over the operation of panoramic flights in Curitiba and inaugurates the Helipad in Parque Barigui.

Novos helipontos e início das operações sem porta

In 2023, Helisul continued to grow and inaugurated two new helipads, one in the city of Canela-RS and the other in the city of Penha-SC.

Also, Helisul expanded its operations and introduced an innovative service in the aviation market: the start of panoramic flights with aircraft without doors in Rio de Janeiro.

Aquisição da Ecocopter e 6 milhões de passageiros

In 2024, Helisul achieved a major milestone with the acquisition of Ecocopter, expanding its operations throughout Latin America. The company also earned the Great Place to Work certification, becoming one of the best companies to work for in Brazil.

Also in 2024, Helisul reached the mark of 6 million passengers on scenic flights and ended the year with the acquisition of 7 Koala aircraft to continue growing its operations.

To reinforce its commitment to innovation and technology, Helisul has incorporated Albatross Engenharia into its portfolio, further expanding its expertise in the sector.
